They are a complete pain in the arse.
I wish me and Dan could run away and get married, just the two of us.
No table plans. No one walking me down the aisle. No problems who we invite and who we don’t.
I know this is a bit extreme but I’m fed up of trying to please everyone else and not me and Dan.

Mmmm, tricky.
My instinct is to actually support you in that: ‘disappear’ and come back married. But somehow I don’t think the families will be very appreciative of that, even if it does spare them a lot of expense/time. Really feel for you over this.

The thing is there are lots of people we love that we want to share this day with, its just we want it to be on our terms

And it should be on your terms, it is your day! Maybe you need to remind people of that sometimes! Someone once said ‘You can please some of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time’. Maybe you need to stop trying to!

I can’t imagine how complicated it is to organise a wedding. Much as I want to get married I don’t want to think about organising it. Just do what you guys want and enjoy your day, you don’t want to look back and see how you were trying to look after everyone instead of enjoying the happiest day of your life. xx
